The Christmas and New Year Festivity Program begins with the inauguration of the decorative lightings in downtown Funchal in December and culminates with the famous fireworks show, officially recognized by the Guinness Book of Records in 2006, as “The world’s greatest firework display”.
The fireworks show lasts about eight minutes and is distributed by several stations, strategically located in the amphitheatre of Funchal, the waterfront and the city centre.
